Riptide GP2 is the follow up to the hugely popular and visually mind blowing Riptide GP. The essence of both games is to race high powered and futuristic jet skis around immaculately designed 3D courses. The new game takes the basic premise of the older title and genuinely enhances it with a host of brand new features and even an online multi-player option.

Features:
Developers Vector Unit are back again with Riptide GP2 which is bigger, badder, better and wetter than its popular predecessor. In a nutshell it’s a racing game where you whisk jet skis in a realistic and physics-based 3D environment. The first thing that hits you are the graphics. The visuals are stunning and even blow those found in the original title out of the water. From the gorgeously rendered courses to the incredibly water physics and splashes, it just looks incredible, easily as good as you will find anywhere else in the Google Play Store.
Underneath the surface, however, there are even more changes. Firstly in modes- there’s career mode as before but now also an online play mode where you can race synced online opponents. Career mode is vaster than it was previously, with plenty more series to play through and exciting tournaments to take on. Online mode speaks for itself. I did find it a little hit and miss, other players were few and far between or when they did play it didn’t seem they were trying too hard. I’m sure this will improve in time.
Another notable mention is that the game is one of the first to support the Google Play Games app, which is like a central hub of online competition between you and your Google+ friends. Essentially, Google have recently made gaming far more sociable, meaning you can play and compete and against your friends playing compatible Google Play Store games. Let battle commence!
There’s more too. You can now upgrade your vehicle with all kinds of boosts in addition to learning 25 different stunts which unlock as you progress and ‘purchase’ them. You earn credits as you race and can use these to enhance your jet ski. Sadly, there’s another way to improve without any skills or practice. This comes in the form of in app purchases, despite the fact you have already paid for the game. What’s especially jarring is that they do not tell you this in the description.
